Operation Backlog Completion 2025

Yesterday, all the developers woke up and decided it was otome day.

All right, so that’s an exaggeration. But it was just three days ago that Jack Jeanne’s release date was announced to be June 15, and more news was hot on its heels.

The fandisc for Even if Tempest had already been teased, but yesterday it was officially revealed as Even if Tempest: Dawning Connections. It will be released this summer in both Japanese and English.

I haven’t played Even if Tempest yet, but it’s been on my list to try – even more so now that the fandisc has a release date.

Meanwhile, the opening movie was revealed for Bustafellows Season 2. There’s been no word about localization yet, but since the first Bustafellows is one I intend to play soon, it probably won’t be long before I’m hoping for news.

Moving on from there, an indie Japanese visual novel called Dormitory Love has been announced for a worldwide release for the Nintendo Switch on April 28. It was originally released for the PC in Japan in 2011, but this is the first time it will be available in English.

Finally, the official website for Hana Awase New Moon is now open, along with an announced release window of fall 2023. We didn’t talk about this one when it was first revealed, but people were pretty surprised that it was getting an English release. It appears that it will be sold as 4 separate volumes instead of a collection, so that sounds like it could get pricey. Nevertheless, I’m intrigued!

This actually isn’t all the otome news, because I think some games only coming out in Japan so far got release dates as well. As it is, I’m already overwhelmed.

Yesterday was a great day for otome fans and a terrible day for my backlog. A wonderful day all around! In non-otome news, NIS announced a collection of the first three Hayarigami horror visual novels, so I’ve got my fingers crossed that NISA finally brings them west.

(As you might have guessed, there was no Clock Tower news to discuss from Sunsoft’s stream. At least all the otome announcements made up for it, for me.)

Are you interested in Even if Tempest: Dawning Connections, Bustafellows Season 2, Dormitory Love, or Hana Awase? Do you think we’ll get Bustafellows Season 2 localization news soon? Share your thoughts in the comments!
