When a young man named Hayato wakes up in an RPG world, he meets a mage named Shiori who teaches him how to fight monsters, take on quests, and store items in a strange metaphysical space known as an “inventory.”

But deadly monster attacks threaten the town of Lightshire, and so Hayato and Shiori embark on a quest to learn the source of the attacks and stop them forever.

Ascendant Hearts is a lighthearted romantic comedy that affectionately parodies JRPGs and MMORPGs.
