The Pokémon Presents is coming up on Friday, but before that we have another showcase tomorrow… not a Nintendo Direct like I was hoping for, but a Nintendo Treehouse stream.
It will be tomorrow, February 24, at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET and feature hands-on gameplay from the Switch 2 version of Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Pokémon Pokopia.
The stream is set to last 80 minutes, so that should provide a decent look at both games.
I never had much interest in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, despite all the acclaim its gotten, for the simple fact that side-scrolling platformers just don’t appeal to me as much (not counting metroidvanias). So a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition with new content does nothing for me.
Meanwhile, I have a passing interest in Pokémon Pokopia that diminished when I learned it’s $70 and the physical version is a key card. I might still tune in tomorrow to see how the game looks, but I doubt it’ll have me rushing out to buy a Switch 2.
But if they’re showing hands-on gameplay tomorrow, I wonder if that means Pokopia will have less of a presence at the Pokémon Presents than I expected. Maybe we’ve got hope for some more surprises after all.
Are you planning to watch the Nintendo Treehouse stream tomorrow?

The treehouses feel more like extended Let’s Plays which has never been as much of an interest to me. I do feel like I’d like Pokopia, but I also am not rushing out for a Switch 2 just yet (especially with my current Switch 1 backlog…)
I will likely check out the Pokemon Direct on Friday, if I remember to watch.
I enjoy them if it’s a game that I’m on the fence about and want to see more gameplay from.
