Operation Backlog Completion 2026
Apr 202026

We used to joke about how we’d catch up to the timeline of Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney before getting Ace Attorney 7, and now we’re here.

April 20, 2026 is the date of the first case in Apollo Justice.

I remember when fans celebrated hitting the dates of the original trilogy’s cases, and now we can finally do the same thing with Apollo Justice.

When Ace Attorney came out, it opted for a “near-future” setting, with the games being set a few years ahead of when they released.

They then kept this going with the 7-year time gap between the end of Trials & Tribulations and the start of Apollo Justice.

Well, we made it through that whole time gap in real time without getting another Ace Attorney game, which now leaves us with a new question: will we get through the entire sequel trilogy’s timeline before a new game is announced, or will we have another set of dates to look forward to by the time we get that far?

We’re also closing in on the 25th anniversary of the series this year. With all the games (excluding the crossover) available through multiplatform collections and Capcom listing it as an IP they want to grow, the future has never looked brighter.. . although I’ve said that for a few years in a row now.

What do you think? Will Ace Attorney 7 finally be announced? Will we have a new Ace Attorney game before we hit the end of the canon timeline? And, if a new game is announced, will it do another timeskip to keep the near-future setting intact?

In the meantime, Happy Apollo Justice Day!
