Technology is great…
…until it turns on you.

If you’ve been following my blog long enough to know that I post regularly these days–usually three times a week outside of special circumstances–you might be wondering what happened to me this week.

Technology turned against me.

I thought I would be greeting you from a PC with a brand new graphics card installed… instead, I’m dealing with a PC that can’t run for more than a few minutes without the fans going crazy. Then it shuts down, most likely to protect itself from overheating.

Sure, this is nowhere near as bad as what happens when fictional machines turn on you, but for a writer, blogger, and gamer, not having a working machine is a pain.

So, my usual posts will be delayed until further notice. With any luck, I’ll be up and running again soon.

Ace-Attorney-welcome

As promised, I’ve now switched from a Blogger site to a self-hosted site. The worst is now over. I’ll still be making changes here and there, but the important thing is that all of the site’s content is here. If you encounter broken links, missing features, or anything else that doesn’t seem right, just leave a comment or contact me.

Next, this transition is the perfect time to make even bigger changes! So tell me…

  • Is there anything about this site you don’t like?
  • Are there any features you wish this site had?
  • Is there something you’ve never seen a site do, that you wish one would try? (Hey, I can’t make any promises, but why not talk about it?)
  • What changes would you like to see?

Brief Hiatus and Big Changes

Just a brief post today to let you know about a couple of things. First, we’re on hiatus for the next week, but we should return next Friday, the 16th, on our usual schedule. Expect further looks at upcoming games, discussions of new Kickstarter projects, and maybe a rant about how Capcom needs to publish Ace Attorney Investigations 2. I haven’t done one of those in a while.

If you need something to do during that time, don’t forget that my next SpeckLit drabble is due out tomorrow.

Finally, big changes are ahead! I hope to start self-hosting this site, instead of using Blogger. If all goes as planned, the only thing you’ll need to know is that we’ll temporarily revert back to the URL slienhard.blogspot.com during the transition. I’ll do my best to make it as smooth and painless as possible.

This should help me to add new features and improve the look of the site. As always, feel free to toss in any suggestions.
