Operation Backlog Completion 2025

When Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue came out on January 24, Sora became available as a Champion in World of Final Fantasy.

He’s only available for a limited time, however, so make sure you download the free DLC before March 31.

Even though World of Final Fantasy has a DLC section you can access from the main menu, Sora doesn’t actually appear there. Instead, you’ll need to find him on the PlayStation Store, either by going directly to the page or searching.

(I searched for “Sora” and it came up right away.)

Once you download and install the DLC, start up World of Final Fantasy to get Sora’s Champion medal.

If you don’t have the game yet, you can still download the DLC before March 31 to have Sora if and when you decide to get World of Final Fantasy.

Not only is it cool to have Sora in World of Final Fantasy, but he also seems like a pretty good Champion. His attack, Ragnarok, inflicts magical light damage against a single enemy, bypassing defense, and also casts regen on the party.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t get any lines during the summons, much like Sephiroth. Unlike Sephiroth, however, you can fast-forward through the animation if you want.

Are you going to get Sora for World of Final Fantasy? Remember, you have until March 31!

kingdom-hearts-2-8-aquaYesterday was a huge day for Kingdom Hearts news.

Let’s start with something minor: this winter, Sora will be added to World of Final Fantasy as a free limited-time DLC Champion.

I’ve been enjoying World of Final Fantasy, and I’m curious if this means they’ll add other characters as time goes on. (Champions are essentially summons.)

Next, in a shocking announcement many people thought would never come, the Kingdom Hearts compilations are coming to the PlayStation 4! Kingdom Hearts 1.5 & 2.5 will be available on March 9th in Japan, March 28th in North America, and March 31st 2017 in Europe. You can already pre-order it from Amazon.

If you’re unfamiliar with the remixes, this collection contains:

  • Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories
  • Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (HD cutscenes only)
  • Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts Re:coded (HD cutscenes only)

In other words, this is the definitive way to catch up on the series aside from the content included in Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. If you’re unsure of the correct order to play the Kingdom Hearts games, I’ve written a guide.

And speaking of which, Square Enix also released the opening movie of Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep 0.2, part of the upcoming 2.8 collection. It’s truly epic.

Finally, two new Kingdom Hearts 3 screenshots were revealed. They show Olympus and Sora using new Drive Forms, which confirms that Drive Forms will return.

Are you excited for Kingdom Hearts 2.8 and Kingdom Hearts 3? What do you think about the full collection finally being available on the PS4? Let me know your thoughts on yesterday’s Kingdom Hearts news and the awesome opening movie in the comments.

world-of-final-fantasy-ennaWorld of Final Fantasy is an upcoming turn-based RPG about a brother and sister exploring a mysterious world called Grymoire and encountering characters from across the Final Fantasy series.

It’s been on my radar ever since they showed the villains.

Since then, I’ve followed news about it and gotten pretty excited for this unusual Final Fantasy game. It sounds like it could be a lot of fun… and on Monday, we can try it out to see.

Starting October 17, a “dungeon demo” will be available to download for the PS4 or Vita. It should be a nice slice of World of Final Fantasy gameplay, with Mirages to capture and Final Fantasy characters to meet.

(Update: the PS Vita demo has been delayed until October 21 in the US.)

If you complete the demo, you’ll be able to fight the Magitek Armor P Mirage in the full game’s coliseum.

Square Enix also released the full opening movie for World of Final Fantasy, which includes the game’s regular graphics as well as an anime art style “that appears during some of the game’s cut scenes.”

I love this intro. It’s adorable, but also exciting. I can’t wait to see what the game is like, and I’ll play the demo for sure!

And of course, I want to know more about the villains. Speaking of which, I don’t trust Enna Kros (the silver-haired woman) one bit, thanks to Kingdom Hearts.

The silver hair is one thing, but she and Xehanort clearly buy their gloves from the same store.

Ansem, Seeker of Darkness, also wears the same gloves (and has beautiful silver hair to rival Enna's)

And let’s see…

enna-and-xehanort-stance

Nope! I don’t trust you, Lady Xehanort! I don’t trust you at all!

…Ahem.

While it may be a while before my suspicions about Enna Kros are proved or disproved, my more reasonable belief that World of Final Fantasy will be a fun game should gain some support on Monday, once the demo is available.

World of Final Fantasy is due out on October 25 in North America, October 27 in Japan, and October 28 in Europe. …Wait, why are we getting it before Japan?

Are you planning to play it or try its demo? What do you think of Enna’s odd resemblance to Xehanort (and Ansem)? Let me know in the comments.
