Yes, it’s that time of year again! Welcome to the 2019 run of Celebrating All Things Spooky!

Special Events

Let’s start off with a sale. From October 5 – October 31, eBook copies of my horror novella The Book at Dernier and horror novelette It Came Back will be on sale for $0.99 at Amazon.

Of course, my zombie comedy The Zombie Mishap and my short stories, all of which are listed here, are available as well.

Prefer physical copies? I’ll be signing copies of The Book at Dernier, The Zombie Mishap, and the pulp fiction collection Domino Lady Volume 3 at Wellsboro’s BookFest on October 19.

And if you’re here for video games, don’t forget that this year I also worked on Two Till Midnight, a horror game available now from Steam.

Here on the site, October will once again be filled with horror game reviews and news… and of course, a contest!

2019’s Celebrating All Things Spooky Contest

This year, the available prizes are:

  • Two Till Midnight (gift sent through Steam)
  • Yomawari: Night Alone (gift sent through Steam)
  • Yomawari: Midnight Shadows (gift sent through Steam)
  • Detention (gift sent through Steam)
  • Dead Age (Steam code)
  • Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location (Steam code)
  • Lakeview Cabin Collection (Steam code)
  • eBook copy of The Book at Dernier

  • You pick a game for me to review!

If you choose the review option, your chosen game must be something I either own or is easily obtainable, which you can discuss with me beforehand. It must be a single game, not a collection (although the chosen game can be part of a collection). I will start playing it in November.

If you participated last year, this probably looks pretty similar. Any questions? Let me know in the comments.

Let the celebration begin!

Mar 202019

Last June, I learned about pulp fiction and the resurgence of pulp fiction heroes.

Now I’m excited to announce that my first pulp fiction story is available now in Airship 27’s Domino Lady Volume 3.

The Domino Lady was a masked heroine who fought crime and corruption in a series of pulp fiction stories written in 1936. This new collection is the third volume of new Domino Lady stories released by the pulp fiction publisher Airship 27.

Domino Lady Volume 3 includes five stories, including my short story “The Domino Lady Takes the Case,” in which she takes on a secret investigation when a friend dies under suspicious circumstances.

It is available now from Amazon, as well as directly from the publisher (scroll down to find it; they’re listed alphabetically by series/character).

You can also add it on Goodreads.

I’ve gotten pretty interested in pulp fiction, so I hope this is only the first of many pulp stories I can share with you.

If you’re a fan of the Domino Lady or interested in giving some new pulp fiction a try, check out Domino Lady Volume 3. Don’t forget to leave a review and let me know your thoughts on “The Domino Lady Takes the Case.”

When I revealed the cover for Void Beckoning, the chapbook my horror story “The Rings of Khal’Uth” will be published in, I mentioned that the publisher would be holding a Kickstarter campaign in the near future.

Well, Gehenna & Hinnom’s 2019 Kickstarter campaign is now live.

This campaign will cover the costs for their 2019 lineup, which includes a series of novelettes, the three chapbooks, and their magazine.

If you’re a horror fan and want to help out these publications, check out the Kickstarter and spread the word.

Now, since it’s February, I’d planned on starting up a new “Celebrating All Things Romantic” event to focus on romance-themed games and visual novels, like my horror-themed “Celebrating All Things Spooky” event in October. However, with how things worked out, I never got a good enough start to make it possible for this year.

But it’s still possible for next year, so let me know if you would be interested in that for the future!

Meanwhile, NIS has released more details about Murder Detective: Jack the Ripper, which really sounds interesting. My main question now is if there’s a middle ground between the “Detective” and “Murderer” routes, or if you’re always pushed to one extreme.

I’m really hoping this gets localized.

Don’t forget to check out the Gehenna & Hinnom Kickstarter campaign, and let me know your thoughts on that, my idea for a romance-themed event, and Murder Detective in the comments!
