No, it’s not a joke. Strange as it may seem when we’re a week away from the Switch 2 presentation, the original Switch is getting a Nintendo Direct tomorrow.

This was rumored, but I didn’t believe it. I assumed it was too close to the Switch 2 reveal to talk about Switch games now.

But the Nintendo Direct will be tomorrow at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET, last 30 minutes, and provide updates on upcoming Switch games.

I don’t know what to look forward to at an event like this. Updates on already-announced games seem likely, maybe even a trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles X since it came out so recently, maybe a look at Metroid Prime 4 to get people excited, but what can we even expect from new game announcements with the successor right around the corner?

So I’ll go back to what I always do and hope for Ace Attorney news.

Look, the Ace Attorney collections came out on PS4; with the Switch 2 being backward compatible, I don’t see any chance of the next Ace Attorney being a Switch 2 exclusive. Ace Attorney 7 (or a new Great Ace Attorney game, please) being announced for the Switch feels like a realistic chance.

What are you hoping to see at the Nintendo Direct tomorrow?

Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, the upcoming remake of the first game in the Trails series, is one I’ve been excited for ever since it was announced.

Sure, I’m still working my way through the Trails series, so I’d probably stick to the games I haven’t played yet first… but it’s still exciting to see the game getting remade like this.

It looks beautiful, and I have high hopes it’ll be a great remake.

So far, it hasn’t received a release date announcement outside of a Fall 2025 release window, but it looks like we might know the date after all.

VGP put up listings today for Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter with a September 25 release date. That’s not a typical placeholder date, so there’s a good chance it’s accurate. If so, we probably can expect to see an announcement soon.

September 25 feels like it’s a long way off… but not long enough that I can even joke about being caught up on Trails by then with how long those games are and how early I am in the series.

Here’s hoping by then I’ve finished at least the next game. That’s a much more reasonable goal.

Are you interested in Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter?

Henry Townshend from Silent Hill 4We’re talking about Silent Hill news again today, not related to one of the upcoming games but rather my beloved Silent Hill 4.

Silent Hill 4 has been on GOG for a while now, but while it had fixed some of the bugs the original PC version had, it was still missing several hauntings.

(Including the infamous doll haunting.)

While it’s not necessary to have all the hauntings, it was disappointing.

Now, as part of the GOG Preservation Program, Silent Hill 4 has seen several improvements, including the restoration of all hauntings. Back when it initially came to GOG, that was the first thing I wanted to know about, so I’m delighted that it’s now complete.

I’ve been tempted to buy Silent Hill 4 on PC because I love it so much (and because I only have the Xbox version, which has some graphical glitches when played on an Xbox 360 like I did). Now that the hauntings are restored and the PC port sounds like the best available version, I’m more tempted than ever.

I don’t replay games often thanks to my backlog, but this is one beloved title that I make an exception for.

Have you played Silent Hill 4 on PC?
