When the second season of the Ace Attorney anime was announced, we discussed various possibilities for its content. Now, we have some answers.

Anime Expo took place last week, and it resulted in a ton of news (including the localization of The Caligula Effect: Overdose and several visual novels). An Ace Attorney panel revealed new details about the anime, reported by Court-Records on Saturday.

In addition to adapting Trials and Tribulations, Season 2 of the anime will include The Lost Turnabout, which the Justice for All adaptation skipped over.

It will also feature original content, including an episode set on a train.

I enjoyed the original episode written for Season 1, so I’m excited to hear that Season 2 will do the same.

Season 2 of the Ace Attorney anime will begin on October 6 in Japan. Are you looking forward to it?

As part of a financial results presentation, Capcom said they will release “2 major titles” this fiscal year, sometime before March 31, 2019.

(Of course, as we know from the still-unannounced Switch Tales game, a company listing a game in their financial report for a specific time period doesn’t always come to fruition. When will Bandai Namco announce that game?)

But getting back to Capcom, this quiet reference to two major games coming out in the next year has led to much speculation about what they might be.

My top prediction is the Resident Evil 2 remake, which we’ve heard almost nothing about since the announcement in 2015.

Capcom also has plans for Ace Attorney to come to the Switch this fiscal year, but even though I love the series, I’m not sure Capcom would consider it “major.”

There have also been many rumors that Capcom is developing Devil May Cry 5, so many fans think that might be one.

With Monster Hunter doing so well, a new Monster Hunter game is also plausible.

What do you think Capcom’s major upcoming games are? Do you think we’ll hear about them at E3? And if the Resident Evil 2 remake isn’t one, when will we hear about it?

Fans have mixed feelings about the Ace Attorney anime, but I found it enjoyable despite some pacing issues.

Now, Season 2 has been announced for this fall.

The visual released alongside the announcement includes Godot, so it’s safe to assume this season will cover the events of Trials & Tribulations.

Now, Season 1 covered the first two games. Does this mean Season 2 will include more than just the third game? Right now, these look like the most likely possibilities:

  • Season 2 will cover Trials & Tribulations and have 1 cour instead of 2.
  • Season 2 will cover Trials & Tribulations and have slower pacing.
  • Season 2 will cover Trials & Tribulations as well as the parts of the first two games that Season 1 skipped.

Jumping to Apollo Justice would seem odd, but it’s also possible they’ll create new content. The episode in Season 1 that had an original story instead of just adapting the game events was one of the best, so I wouldn’t be displeased.

Are you happy the Ace Attorney anime is getting a second season? Will you watch it? Let me know in the comments.
